Sometimes, life just sucks. Hard things happen every day. No one is exempt. Even the happiest people you know have rotten days.

Happiness is something we all want, yet it seems so elusive and doesn’t stay once you find some little piece of it. So how are we supposed to be happy? It seems impossible.

Quite frankly, it just seems more realistic to smack those people who walk around with rose-colored glasses. I mean really, how do they do that? Don’t they see all the tragic things going on in the world?

We have all been hurt. And will probably be hurt again. But that doesn’t mean we can’ enjoy the good and happy times as they come.

Time does not heal all wounds. You take steps to heal your wounds, though it does take time to do so. The time will pass anyway. I’d rather deal with pain now than run from it for the rest of my life. There’s still pain involved either way.

I’m not so naive to claim that pain won’t be there after you work to heal. Life happens and it’s full of pain. However, healing will take you out of the downward spiral and will significantly improve your quality of life.

There may still be pain, but it’s not constant. There are moments of peace and happiness. Those usually happen with healing. Who wouldn’t want a break?

There are good things that happen in life, too.
